This video was created as an instructional in association with this blog, Love the Dirt. It complements the theme of the farm-to-fork movement that is explored throughout. I chose to focus this video on utilizing produce and proteins within the surrounding area in order to make delicious and nutritious meals. This video is the beginning of what I hope will be a series of instructional cooking videos for this blog using locally-sourced foods from the area.

In order to create the video, I chose a recipe that would be easy to guide through and cook. I then gathered up all the needed ingredients from the local farmers market and co-op. Before I started cooking, I wrote and recorded the narration, this way I knew how long each shot would need to be in order to flow seamlessly together. In fact, while recording the cooking process, I narrated the instructions out loud for any given scene to gauge the amount of time needed for filming each step. I chose to slowly cook the ingredients, so I would be able to record the necessary cooking steps one-by-one, without feeling rushed and to make editing the video easier.

To edit the video and narration, I used Adobe Premiere and Adobe Audition. I am choosing to feature this piece because it shows my understanding of the Adobe tools and my capability in creating promotional material for a marketing campaign for a business or nonprofit.
